North Dakota State University Press is a decades-old small-press publisher with the added mission of teaching the next generation of publishers by means of the Certificate in Publishing. We publish six to ten books annually in nonfiction, fiction, and poetry , many of them winning state, regional, and national awards . Our publications contribute to the scholarly knowledge and public consciousness of region.

NDSU Press seeks to hire a part-time Editorial Administrative Assistant. This person will assist with email and calendar management, invoicing, and reports (such as monthly sales tax and purchasing, etc.) to begin with, with assignments in project scheduling, peer review correspondence, and royalties management added in as time allows.

The position is part time (10 hours/week) for one year (possibility to be extended). $17/hour + fica, etc.

  • the odd combination of being a reader AND being good with numbers
  • strong ability to converse in oral and written communications
  • skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Requirements:
  • work on-site
  • knowledgeable in the use of Outlook, Asana, and Submittable
