Job Details

Description The Flight Training Manager will assist the Chief and Asst Chief Flight Instructors with administrative and management duties of the hourly flight instructors and students enrolled in flight training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Flight Training Management
    • Supervise and review flight instructor scheduled student flight training activities. 
    • Maintain AIMS Pilot Manager duties and responsibilities.
    • Review and organize student flight training performance information and report findings to the Chief/Asst. Chief Flight Instructors.
    • Review and organize employee flight instructor performance information and report finding to the Chief/Asst. Chief Flight Instructors.
    • Counsels students and flight instructors to improve performance
    • Monitor and maintain CFI compliance with appropriate FARs and Safety Policies and Procedures.  Supervise and review regulatory instructor requirements and report findings to the Chief/Asst. Chief Flight Instructors.
    • Supervise and coordinate the student and instructor flight lab schedules ensuring of proper customer service and efficiency. 
    • Manage, create, and review student and instructor flight lab schedules.
    • Assist with the onboarding and resignation process of new flight instructors.
    • Assist with other flight instructor human resources and payroll duties as assigned.
    • Assist with CFI hiring and new hire training
    • Suggest changes for the improvement of any aspect to UND Flight Operations
    • Assist in the performance of other duties as assigned by the asst. Chief or Chief Flight Instructor
  • Operations Liaison
    • Between management and the CFI’s and students
    • Ensure assigned CFI’s and students are aware of organizational goals and objectives
    • Participates as a “Manager on Duty” Promotes and participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) culture
    • Communicates with other UND departments as appropriate
    • Assist in the performance of other duties as assigned by the Asst. Chief or Chief Flight Instructor
  • UND Flight Records, FAA, and TSA Requirements
    • Conduct student records course clears.
    • Conduct FAA enrollment regulatory procedures.
    • Conduct TSA regulatory procedures.
    • Counsel employee flight instructors and students are FAA and TSA regulatory procedures.

Required Competencies

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Microsoft Office:  Excel, Outlook, Words, PowerPoint.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous management experience. Bachelor’s degree in a management or business-related field.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification $40,000/Exempt/Benefited
