Crossroads Care Center of Weyauwega is introducing a new program to hire Certified Nursing Assistants at a paid rate of $20 per hour. The intent of this program is to address a staffing shortage crisis we currently face at the facility. If successful, the goal is to maintain the program in line with the guidelines below not to extend beyond what is stipulated in these simple guidelines. The facility maintains the right to eliminate this program at any time if it proves unsuccessful or unnecessary based on the needs.
- The program will be offered to the first 20 C.N.A.s who are hired
- The new C.N.A. must commit to, and fulfill consistently a minimum of 37.5 hours per week (5 shifts over 7 days)
- Of these 37.5 hours it must include a minimum of two shifts every other weekend.
- Any C.N.A. who is currently employed at the facility and meets these hour minimums is eligible as well and will be included as one of the first 20 people.
- Once 20 C.N.A.s are hired / employed with these minimums and commitments, all new hires will be hired at the regular wage scale
- Anyone who does not meet the minimum hour requirements of 37.5 hours in a week worked will forfeit the $20 per hour rate and be reduced to the regular wage scale for that work week (or remain at it)
- There will be no rate variance considered for these 20 employees based on experience
** In addition to the above items, all new hires must still follow and fulfill the facility's, state, and federal requirements as are spelled out in the employee handbook.
All staff inquiring for this program will be selected as would normally be done through the facility hiring process and as per the employee handbook and facility policy. Application for the position will not be the determining factor in obtaining the promotional rate. The rate will only be honored once the facility has made the final decision to hire the employee.
As staffing needs change and fewer employees are needed to fulfill the full scheduled requirements, the number of $20 per hour employees may be adjusted.
All benefit time will be paid at the base regular wage scale
All C.N.A.s who are hired into this program will be required to sign a 6-month commitment and maintain all the minimum requirements for those 6 months. In the event that the employee exceeds 3 work weeks below these minimum requirements during that 6-month period, the employee will be disqualified from the program and paid at a facility regular wage scale per hour.
