Job Information

Doosan Bobcat designs and manufactures a wide variety of products which include loaders, excavators, compact tractors, and attachments. These products require embedded software to support critical functions such as operator interfaces, vehicle diagnostics, hydraulics, electric drive, and accessories. As an Embedded Software Engineer Lead you will be focused on managing the software validation efforts for Bobcat systems.   

Role & Responsibility

  • Manage a team of embedded software validation engineers
  • Actively monitor projects and make appropriate personnel and resource changes to meet the project goals
  • Outline strategy for employee growth, development, and succession planning
  • Participate in yearly budget reviews
  • Support the ideation process to initiate new ideas for future and existing products for the Long-Range Plan (LRP)
  • Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence within the department.  Sponsor and/or or lead innovation challenges and events
  • Completion of the development projects on time within budget.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders in creating test cases and test strategies
  • Integrate existing test cases between testing platforms
  • Facilitate and create test strategies to support project goals
  • Utilize Application Life Cycle Management Tool (Polarion) for all projects facilitating test schedules, issue tracing, and test case creation
  • Provide strategic leadership in the product development life cycle based on knowledge and history of the product and the company's annual goals


Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer, or Equivalent) Computer Science, or similar will be considered   
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams in the development of a single product, product function and/or product improvement/optimization effort
  • Knowledge with continuous integration techniques preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with versioning tools 
  • < 10% travel

Related Experience:
  • Familiarity with construction and agriculture equipment preferred
  • Ability to build strong relationships with other functions of the organizations
  • Experience in developing and mentoring engineers at various levels in their careers
  • Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently 
  • Inspire, engage, and empower employees to create a culture of creativity, innovation, and promote timely development of world-class products

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
