Description
The Warehouse Delivery Technician is responsible for performing pickup and deliveries for the departmental Central Stores and Receiving and other tasks as assigned. In addition, this position serves on the departmental snow removal team and is responsible for performing snow and ice removal/mitigation for the Facilities Management Department at the University of North Dakota. This position must be able and willing to work nights, early mornings and weekends as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Pick-up and deliver surplus property
Pick-up and deliver items from Central Receiving to campus departments
Stage, load and deliver campus custodial supplies
Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
Receive freight and packages from vendor’s, delivery companies and interdepartmental surplus items
Notify UND requesters on damaged property ordered to determine receipt or return process
Assist with surplus recycling process and movement
For a designated snow event utilize proper equipment and materials to remove snow/ice from campus streets, sidewalks, parking lots and other hardscapes using established standard operating procedures and in time/manner as directed by Facilities Management and Landscape/Grounds Coordinator or designee.
Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including, but not limited to propane forklift, pallet jack, two-wheel carts, order pickers, and bar code readers, etc
Perform general cleaning housekeeping in all warehouse areas

Assist UND staff with any questions regarding surplus process
Required Competencies

The ability to interact and communicate with students, faculty, staff and co-workers

Basic computer skills/experience

Use and operation of hand tools, drills, and boom truck

Excellet analytical and orgainzational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-
Valid Driver's License
-
Basic computer skills to include Excel, Outlook, and Word

2 years experience in driving and pick up/deliveries

Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

One year experience in operating large equipment such as tractors, Bobcats, and pay loaders

Experience with Loader and Backhoe operation
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification
$32,000 annual non-exempt position
Schedule
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. All Facilities Management positions are subject to overtime and callbacks twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week as needed/directed by supervisors/directors.
