Overview:
Job Description Summary:
The Weld Trainee is responsible for learning and developing welding skills applicable to aligning and fitting fabricated steel structures per blueprints with limited supervision. This position applies trade skills to a wide variety of welding jobs on ferrous and nonferrous metals. This position will report directly to the Operations Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Weld Trainee will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Read blueprints and communicate with co-workers
Set up, run, and operate machinery
Count and maintain accurate tracking system
Report any equipment issues to department lead
Perform periodic quality checks
Complete all welding tasks on time
Ability to use and read tape measure
All other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Work Experience: No prior experience needed
Education: High School Diploma
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary
Organization Skills: Maintain clean and organized work space
Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work and handle multiple job assignments
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within a team setting
Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to lift, bend, and twist throughout the workday; will be required to lift between 50 to 75 pounds; familiar with welding symbols
Physical Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Requirements:
Work Experience: Prior welding experience and/or manufacturing experience
