As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Corporate Risk Strategy Planning & Governance Office (SP&G)

The Strategy and Planning and Governance Office is responsible for supporting Wells Fargo's Chief Risk Officer in managing the Corporate Risk function, its primary functions include: Corporate Risk Business Strategy, Planning and Operations; Governance; Corporate Risk Technology & Data Architecture; Corporate Risk Front Line Risk Oversight, Corporate Risk Global Delivery; and General Business Administration.

Corporate Risk Business Planning and Operations Consultant - 2 New Positions
These newly created positions are within the Commercial Banking Chief Risk Officer (CB CRO) organization. The Commercial Banking SP&G leader is establishing a team to perform planning and operations activities that support the Corporate Risk business-aligned CRO model. These roles will report directly to the Leader, and will be responsible for various reporting, program management, planning and process enhancements.

These positions will interact with senior Commercial Banking business and Risk leaders and other senior Risk leaders, including the CB line of business CROs, Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) risk directors, and other SP&G leaders. These roles could also interact with regulatory and governance entities. These roles do not have direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities may include:

  • Contribute to critical risk management programs and activities, including risk and control committee management, board reporting, and monitoring the execution of Risk Management Framework related programs.
  • Implement standard routines and planning activities related to enterprise risk initiatives and projects.
  • Develop reporting/ information delivery/ presentations with key stakeholders and senior management, including root cause, cost/benefit, and risk analyses.

Role #1 - SP&G Business Planning and Operations Consultant will oversee quarterly CB CRO business review reporting and analytics, resource management, and financial planning. The role will facilitate expense management and monitoring as well as workforce projections. The role will collaborate with closely with Finance, Human Resources and Corporate Risk Shared Services to ensure adherence to standard operational procedures and practices.

Role #2 - SP&G Business Planning and Operations Consultant will oversee the communication plan, including development and management of a SharePoint repository, management notifications, and coordination of leadership meetings. The role will serve as a primary point of contact for Early Talent, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DE&I), and other enterprise-wide programs. The leader will partner with Human Resources and Corporate Risk Shared Services to ensure adherence to standard operational procedures and practices.



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 4+ years of leadership experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of Risk Management and Chief Operating Office related activities supporting a line of business or the enterprise risk management function
  • Experience with corporate and regulatory governance activities and standards
  • Experience with management, committee, and board reporting
  • Business management experience, including headcount planning and budget management
  • Strong project or program management experience
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing a high volume of priorities and projects
  • Experience in financial services
  • Experience with large-scale change management principles and/ or large complex initiatives
  • Strong business and corporate risk acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance and implement new processes


Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
