Job Summary
The Therapy Support Associate is responsible for assisting the physical, occupational, and speech therapists in the delivery of therapy evaluation and treatment interventions. The PMTS Support Associate assists with the coordination of patient schedules with the patient's interdisciplinary treatment team. The associate provides assistance with basic cares, transporting and patient transfers.
Essential Job Functions
Monitors, receives and directs all patients, visitors and professionals ensuring that their needs are met in a timely manner and that priority situations are referred to appropriate staff.
Assists with coordinating patient treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures and communicates any changes.
Assists Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech/Language Pathologists with the provision of evaluation and therapy intervention.
Assists with patient mobility, transfers and lifting under the supervision of a therapist.
Demonstrates knowledge of location, set-up, cleaning, and use of basic and special equipment.
Obtains, prepares, distributes and maintains therapy supplies and equipment, i.e., adaptive equipment, exercise equipment, food, etc. Distributes supplies and equipment as requested.
Performs patient personal cares/comforts according to standard operating procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

- Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
- All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
- The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
- The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Professional Drivers: Persons who drive as their main responsibility OR transport passengers or hazardous materials.
- Frequent Drivers: Persons whose main responsibility is not driving, but drive daily or almost daily.
- Occasional Drivers: Persons who drive from once per month to as frequently as once per week.
- Infrequent Drivers: Persons who are generally not expected to drive.
