POSITION SUMMARY HISTOTECHNOLOGIST Responsible to embed, cut, stain, coverslip and label tissue specimen/slides. Performs Immunohistochemisty and Special stain procedures as well as maintenance of control tissues and all instruments/stains while maintaining a clean and well organized lab environment. GROSS ASSISTANT Provides technical services in surgical Pathology under the supervision of a Pathologist. Also may be asked to perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of surgical specimens for histological processing according to defined policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities include accessioning, gross dissection and dictation of routine, uncomplicated human tissue biopsies and surgical specimen along with all duties necessary to maintain a clean and well organized work area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Licenses and Certifications Required None Educational Requirements High school diploma, AS or BS in biological or chemical science, or previous on-the-job training with experience of at least 3 or more years. Preference given to applicants with biological or chemical science degree. Experience Requirements None Special Skills or Training Requirements Prepared to work with educational requirements.
