Altec Chassis Engineering is currently looking for an Engineer to join the team. The selected individual can be located at any Altec location. This position will focus on electrical systems including chassis programming and Altec integration and play a key role in supporting Altec Final Assembly plants and Altec Service.

Qualifications
  • ABET EAC certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in an engineering role after earning the Degree in Engineering required
    • Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience
  • Demonstrated skills in electrical systems and integration of chassis-mounted equipment preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding and ability in basic engineering practices and principles
  • Must effectively interact with other associates, departments, operations, suppliers and chassis OEM's
  • Basic understanding of business principles and practice
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying. Support of Altec operations and Customers may require limited times of greater travel.
Responsibilities
  • Perform validation testing as chassis changes occur including model year changeovers
  • Interface with Chassis OEM's and dealers for a variety of support related topics including Altec Applications, Operations and Quality issues
  • Provide feedback to Altec teams regarding chassis changes. Examples include providing information for configurator updates and schematic generator updates.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by helping to develop chassis support processes and practicing world-class problem resolution techniques
  • Work closely with the Altec controls team on chassis integration opportunities
