Your Opportunity
Wenck now a part of Stantec is seeking a Wastewater Engineer Project Manager with approximately twelve (12) or more years of experience in the drinking water and/or wastewater engineering field. The opportunity is in our Golden Valley, Minnesota office and would be to identify and direct water/wastewater projects for public and private clients. Projects would primarily be in Minnesota and surrounding states, but also throughout the United States. Duties include providing our existing clients with engineering and compliance support as well as growing our regional client base. Travel requirements will depend on project needs and may include regional travel, short overnight trips, or other. Miscellaneous administrative tasks may be required.
Your Key Responsibilities
Managing projects for our public and private clients by assisting with implementation of drinking water and/or wastewater engineering and compliance projects.
Provide leadership on multi-disciplined drinking water and wastewater projects.
Maintain quality relationships with regulators and approval authorities.
Maintain quality relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other organizations involved in the design and implementation of drinking water and wastewater projects.
Providing our existing clients with environmental and engineering support.
Drive the growth of our regional client base.
Develop proposals, reports, designs, and other deliverables as required.
Maintain quality client relationships and communication.
Being responsive to internal and external clients.
Work effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
Maintain knowledge applicable drinking water and wastewater regulations, both current and proposed.
Lead internal and external presentations, including at public meetings.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
12 years of experience in the environmental and engineering consulting field.
Demonstrated ability to sustain and grow environmental and engineering services provided to our clients.
Experience managing subcontractors for other engineering/support disciplines.
Ability to manage others, their workload, and client expectations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-discipline engineering projects.
Effective project management skills - successfully manage scope, schedule and budget.
Experience working with Local and State, regulatory agencies.
Experience leading project meetings with clients, as well as leading presentations to clients or the public.
Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team to develop and execute projects.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software platform.
Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
Able to travel regionally, have short overnight trips.
Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Environmental Engineer)
Must be a professional engineer licensed in Minnesota or be capable of applying for Minnesota PE license within 3 months
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Indoor (Office Environment) Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting. Noise level varies but generally at levels of conversation. Majority of time spent using a computer/laptop at a workstation and related office equipment. Time spent carrying, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling up to 9 kilograms / 20 pounds Occasional - 1-33% of shift. Subject to extended periods of sitting; may be required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk short to moderate distances to perform work. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment if needed.
