Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Business Analyst - Broker Operations for a contract to hire position in Minnetonka, MN.

Position Summary:
Gather, research, and document requirements from business stakeholders. Design, develop, implement, and maintain of new deliverables, processes, or models. Responsible for operationalizing regulatory and/or business requirements, including process improvement and work related to growth initiatives.
The Broker Operations Business Analyst role resides on the Broker Operations team at client. The role is responsible to assist in the broker operations ecosystem. The Broker Operations BA will collaborate with business owners to elicit and capture critical business requirements related to the broker eco-system. The will manage projects and communication channels in support of strategic business needs and opportunities and will expedite design, development and implementation of new broker service models and/or enhancements to existing service models. Ability to interpreting business needs and translate them into operational requirements is required. Incumbents must have experience leading technical projects through all phases of system implementation including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, training, delivery and directing the work of others on assigned projects.
The incumbent will also perform analysis to identify payment needs, evaluate and recommend solutions as well as provide support in facilitating implementation. This role will also be responsible for the effective and timely resolution of escalated and high priority broker service issues and other projects as needed.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Operational Analysis, Research, and Support
    • Work within the broker eco-system to understand the technology, process, and data currently used as well as interpret future needs of the ecosystem to support the growing complexity of multiple sales distribution channels. Understand the agent certification process and support enhancements of home grown systems
    • Create and maintain business requirements documentation for commission and incentive programs for broker channel sales within all lines of business (Commercial , IFB and Medicare) and new business initiatives)
    • Create process designs to produce high quality, efficient outcomes for broker onboarding and commission payments.
    • Create and execute test plans to prove the desired outcome of solutions is achieved
    • Partner with segment leaders to define needs and processes that align with client's retention and growth strategy
    • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources and clearly indicate quality of final analysis
    • Work closely with Vendors, Business and IT counterparts to recommend solutions and resolve system deficiencies
    • Participate in internal and external audits and quality assurance processes
    • Maintain systems and product expertise and documentation, focusing on process improvements
    • Develop and implement best practices and create and maintain standard operating procedure guides
  • Project Management & Process Innovation
    • Manage all aspects of projects, such as development of project objectives and deliverable, timelines, status reports as well as influence and direct the work of resources dedicated to these projects.
    • Ensure clear project communication across all areas and level of the organization for projects and initiatives. Routinely interacts with Directors and executives of the organization.
    • Lead and participate in assigned workgroups, committees, and project implementations
  • Teamwork & Personal Effectiveness:
    • Demonstrate keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities both from an operational and technical perspective
    • Take ownership and have personal initiative to proactively research and resolve customer issues, develop appropriate communications to alert business and operational teams
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on items related to the broker eco-system and respond to escalated broker issues
    • Participate and contribute ideas in team and strategic meetings
    • Work collaboratively as well as independently, engage others, such as manager, vendors and teammates as appropriate
    • Assist in training and act as mentor for other individuals in the department
    • Able to work with ambiguity, interpret and recommend appropriate solutions that support business needs


Qualifications:

  • Minimum education level required to qualify for the position: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimumyears' experience required in the field to qualify for the position: 5 years
  • 5 years' experience as a business analyst in diverse operational or IT environment
  • Microsoft Visio or similar process documentation tools
  • Experience building business cases, and developing integrated solutions involving process, data, and technology
  • Project management experience
  • Process development experience
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong drive for results and accountability
  • Exceptional judgement and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to analyze ongoing eco-system needs and recommend and ensure implementation of immediate corrective action to ensure process improvements.
