Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - ED

Lakewood Health System has a Full-Time opening for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Emergency Department (ED).

Four 10-hour weekday shifts from 1:00PM to 11:00PM.

The PA / NP serves as an independent provider, collaborates with the ED physician and works with a variety of other healthcare professionals. The PA / NP will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, and patient education. The PA / NP will also perform a variety of procedures including laceration repair, I&D, and other system specific exams.

Lakewood Health System's Emergency Department is a designated Level III Trauma Center.
Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner qualifications: Current licensure as an APRN in the state of MN required. Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner required.
• Physician Assistant qualifications: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required.
• Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
• All candidates must also have current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and have current ATLS course credentials.
• All candidates must have the ability to work independently, exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills and project a positive image for Lakewood Health System and its entities.
