##Job Description **Objective: ** Acclimate and train new hire employees to sow farm environment and Pipestone Management processes **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** 1. Train new employees for the initial tasks in their designated areas as specified below including the incorporation of biosecurity, safety and animal welfare features for each task until deployed to regular farm training. 1. Gestation * Morning chores * Shuffling - understanding the snake * Breeding * Boar handling and why * Sow movement and culling * Other activities specific to the area/location 1. Farrowing * Feeding sows * Handling and movement of sows and piglets * Scraping crates * Pressure washing * Processing * Day one and wean shots * Room set up * Other activities specific to the area/location 2. Ensure each new employee completes the following My Pipestone Introductory courses. 3. Biosecurity 4. Safety 5. Animal Welfare 6. PQA 7. Check My Pipestone for completion and passing courses 8. Ensure training checklist is submitted to Production Supervisor/HR on a timely basis 3. New Hire Training Follow Up 1. Complete designated paperwork for training verification and transfer to assigned sow farm 2. Coordinate training status and additional needs with Site Manager and assigned mentor 4. Ability to Travel within the respective regions (East Region and West Region) designated by Pipestone. **MARGINAL FUNCTIONS** 1. Other duties and projects as assigned by Production Supervisor/Human Resources Supervisor. 2. Ability to assist farm in production needs when training does not need to be facilitated. **POSITION SPECIFICATIONS** **Education: **High School Diploma or GED Required **Experience: **Prefer 1 Year Agriculture Swine Experience **Training: **My Pipestone Courses Introductory Courses for Sow Farms All Production Related Courses for Sow Farms All Designated Non Production Courses For Sow Farms Annual Safety Training Animal Welfare Training with PQA Certification Designated Paperwork Including Training, HR, Payroll and Production **Work** ** Environment:** Agricultural swine confinement environment in rural location Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas Gestation, farrowing, and small swine care processes **Physical** ** Requirements:** Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to train multiple levels of employees Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths **Additional** **Requirements: **Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation to get to work farms and attend meetings Safe driving record required to meet company insurance requirements Farm travel based on 5 days per week as necessary including some overnight travel Bilingual in English and Spanish is required Basic computer knowledge to send/receive emails and reports *ALL ADDRESSES:* Pipestone, MN *FULL-TIME:* Full-time *Job Title:* Training Manager - Iowa/Missouri *Location:* EMP SERV, LLC-10100 *Req Num:* 21-597
