Unit Description:

Sodexo's growing Clinical Technology Management Division is seeking a talented Imaging Service Engineer to support Healthcare technology services at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service and communications skill as well as a strong technical skills and commitment to deliver excellent repair service in an expedient manner.

The ISE 1 candidate for this role will possess:

  • experience repairing, maintaining and calibrating Ultrasound units
  • experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing Ultrasound devices
  • excellent communication, customer service and time management skills
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule as required

Imaging Service Technician 1 will provide, repair, scheduled maintenance, and calibration on diagnostic imaging equipment and ancillary equipment used within the imaging environment. Services imaging equipment in assigned geography which may include but not limited to the following modalities: Portables, C-Arms, conventional X-Ray, R&F, tomography, mammography, ultrasound, and provide support on CT, MRI, Cath labs, nuclear medicine or linear accelerators. Service in imaging areas is handled through a combination of in-house and contractual service, managed by the Diagnostic Imaging Service Engineer. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: Ensure continued safe, reliable equipment operation by repairing and maintaining the Diagnostic Imaging equipment that has been assigned to the Radiology Technical Support Services Department. Maintain detailed and accurate records of repairs and service. Service histories will be reviewed periodically to determine trends that might necessitate a change in service intervals or procedures.

Provide on-going Preventative Maintenance, which includes periodic inspections, functional testing, calibrations, lubrication, parts replacement as required by the manufacturer's specifications, equipment environment, past experience and governmental requirements. Maintain an adequate supply of specific and common spare parts to reduce equipment downtime.

When appropriate, third party sources or OEM vendors will be used to gain cost savings. Provide consultation, information, training, and support to hospital staff and physicians in evaluating new or proposed Diagnostic Imaging and related systems. Function as the liaison between the manufacturer and the hospital personnel regarding equipment quality and standards before and after purchase. Maintain current knowledge of new instrumentation and state of the art technology through publications, continuing education (seminars, classes, and trade shows) and contact with manufacturers. Participated in the department on-call rotation. Returns call within 15 minutes of being called. Must report to work within 60 minutes of being called. Provide technical support (via telephone or on-site) to other engineers. Acti vely participates in department meetings and training sessions.

Position Summary:

Inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment, devices, system, and instruments. Interact on a routine basis with other clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Reuqirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, biomedical engineering, or other technical discipline contributing to proficiency of maintenance and repair of imaging equipment within a healthcare environment

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience within a healthcare setting with direct responsibility for the maintenance and repair of clinical devices and/or 1 year of imaging equipment repair and maintenance within a healthcare environment and/or entry level of formalized training and/or equivalent military training
