Position Description & Details:

Will manage and coordinate recruiting and onboarding activities by partnering with hiring leaders at NDSU.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, sources talent for requisitions for staff positions at NDSU.
  • Partners with hiring leaders to understand current and forecasted business talent needs and hiring targets for local, regional and national recruitments.
  • Serves as a consultant to develop strategic recruitment plans to fill existing and anticipated pools.
  • Drive the identification of talent pools and pipelines by mining candidate databases, tapping professional networks, leveraging social media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Counsel candidates on university benefits, salary, and campus environment.
  • Represents NDSU internally and externally at events with goal of networking and relationship building with potential candidate communities.
  • Develop passive candidate sourcing strategy and pipelines using varied sources.
  • Develops plans to support and to attract a diverse workforce to the university by hiring talented people of varied backgrounds, experiences and styles.
  • Screens positions as necessary.
  • Assist with Onboarding and New Employee Orientation
  • Provide recruitment benefit overview sessions to candidates
  • Partners with hiring managers and/or internal search committees to provide training and guidance on NDSU hiring requirements and employment law compliance in addition to informing the committee members on the applicants and candidates skills, abilities and knowledge.
  • Participate on Search Committees as needed.
  • Coordinate background checks with third party vendor
  • Serves as lead campus trainer on Applicant Tracking system

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Advertised Salary: $50,000+/year commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience or knowledge in strategic recruiting and sourcing of candidates
  • 3 years full time professional experience working in recruiting/talent acquisition
  • Experience working with social/digital media, resume databases, and/or professional resume board systems
  • Proficient skills working with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a full time HR Generalist role
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience working in HR in higher education
