Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Environmental Scientist, well count on you to
Work with and assist clients and other Project Managers with environmental permitting, environmental review documents and other activities that could include public presentations, field studies and compliance monitoring.
Provide leadership, coordination, technical support and project management for the environmental compliance processes associated with the planning and design of power and transmission development, mining, transportation, and water management. Projects could include environmental review, environmental permitting and feasibility studies.
Lead teams in preparing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and associated agency consultations, Minnesota Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) documents, other environmental review documents, permits and reports for a variety of energy, water resources, transportation, and mining projects.
Schedule workload for project teams, provide staff mentoring, and review deliverables.
Responsible for business development and client management activities including, scope and fee development, preparation of proposals and presentation delivery.
Work closely with regional and local staff to drive program development from an upper-Midwest geographic basis (MN, WI, ND, SD, IA) across all service lines and client asset types.
Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

BS or BA degree in Biology, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Soil Science, Geography, Geology, Engineering, Planning or related field
10 years of experience working through environmental planning, compliance and permitting with laws such as NEPA, MEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act and others, including developing plans, writing proposals, developing scopes of work, budgets and schedules for complex environmental projects with multi-disciplinary teams and multi-agency efforts; and marketing clients.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
Strong technical and problem-solving skills including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time and work with multiple project teams
Experience in business development and client management

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Biology, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Soil Science, Geography, Geology, Engineering, Planning or related field
Knowledge and experience with environmental field review techniques, such as wetland delineations, plant and wildlife assessments, cultural resource surveys, water quality assessments, or others.
