The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

* Leads formulation changes including raw material substitutions, new product commercialization programs and cost reduction projects
* Implements product standards, product changes, new products
* Determines product robustness, initial manufacturing capability, potential for new intellectual property
* Takes ownership to resolve product quality issues including implementation of future preventions
* Develops Release and In-Process Test Methods with specific attention to MSA, documentation, training, control plan, test result certification
* Provides technical input to Business team and technical reports on key activities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
* One (1) year of experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: new product introduction, project engineering, product engineering, product development, and/or research laboratory supporting a chemistry-based product line

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

* Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science based curriculum
* Three (3) years of product commercialization or project leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
* Experience in liquid adhesive formulation and/or abrasive manufacturing and scale up, translating voice of customer/voice of market (VOC/VOM) into product specifications, new product introduction (NPI) project leadership and/or broader project leadership
* Skills include; Product and process understanding using appropriate tools (Minitab, statistics, scale up experience) NPI tools, sound formulation/optimization, knowledge and expertise in adhesive chemistries, abrasives, testing and customer applications
* Self-starter with experience with project management

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
