Wells Fargo's Private Wealth Management Trust Services Group currently has multiple Securities Operations Service Specialist 3 (SOSS 3) positions, potentially supporting several different teams, available in Minneapolis, MN.
The SOSS 3 within Trust Services is a team member with proven trust operations and/or financial services experience. The SOSS 3 performs a variety of operational tasks for complex trades, transfers, and/or cash related transactions or other processes that require extensive knowledge of unit functions and systems. A successful SOSS 3 is viewed as a role model for junior level staff, providing mentoring and guidance as needed.
Duties will vary based on the department. They may include but are not limited to the following:
??? Processing and reconciling complicated transactions
??? Working independently under minimal supervision
??? Identifying discrepancies in data sets or transactions
??? Researching and resolving problems
??? May provide department level reporting using multiple sources
??? Reviewing time sensitive and/or complex documents
??? Managing a pipeline of work from start to completion
??? Coordinating situations involving multiple departments
??? May provide training or work direction to junior level staff
??? Provides back-up for other team members as needed
??? May have extensive customer contact via phone and/or email
??? Meeting quality and production standards of work
We may have openings in one or more of the following areas -
The Security Control & Account Transfers (SCAT) SOSS 3 employees work closely with brokers, financial institutions, tax groups, and Trust Account Administrators to ensure that assets such as stocks, bonds, and other securities, are tracked electronically when moving in or out of the Trust Vault. This is a critical role in safeguarding our customers' physical assets and making sure their location is always known. Team members in these roles must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to employ logic and critical thinking skills. The incumbent may cross-train on other settlement functions to provide back up or assistance as needed. All job responsibilities must be completed by the end of the day, so flexibility to work additional hours is necessary.
The functions performed by the SOSS 3 in SCAT must take place on site, therefore employees in this group will be expected to work at our vault location of 425 East Hennepin Avenue, in Minneapolis, MN.
A Vault Custodian is a SOSS 3 who is required to work in the vault for purposes of physically locating securities such as stock certificates. Vault Custodians work in close communication with SCAT, but there is a strict segregation of duties to meet regulatory requirements. The Vault Custodian is the SOSS 3 that physically handles the assets that are moving in or out of the Trust Vault, while the SCAT SOSS 3 records the information. All vault responsibilities must be completed by the end of the day, so flexibility to work additional hours is necessary in this role also.
Because the SOSS 3 Vault Custodian is required to physically work in the vault, employees in these roles are also expected to work onsite at 425 East Hennepin Avenue, in Minneapolis, MN.
The Client Solutions department is a newly structured team that will provide support for external investment managers and/or self-directed clients for non-Institutional Retirement and Trust (non-IRT) accounts after the IRT divestiture, which is expected to occur in February 2022. Activities supported are moderately complex to complex, and can be large dollar in nature, requiring detailed communication and coordination with many other internal teams and lines of businesses as well as necessitating that the SOSS 3 in this area has extensive knowledge of the securities industry, familiarity with various security types, and knowledge of unit functions and systems.
Other duties expected of a SOSS 3 in Client Solutions include participating in departmental efforts and demonstrating initiative to provide successful support of our client base. Adherence to guidelines, procedures, and regulations is critical.
The Client Solutions group is temporarily working remotely due to the pandemic, but employees in these roles will return to a 100% in-office environment at 550 South 4th Street, in Minneapolis, MN, at the discretion of management.
The Investment Manager Relations (IMR) Next Gen team processes trades, transfers, and cash transactions for select trust accounts, working from a queue. SOSS 3s in this group take on the more complex issues, which may require additional in-depth research and data analysis to achieve resolution. These team members work closely with other team members within IMR, with other departments within Trust Services Group, and with Trust Account Administrators.
The SOSS 3 in IMR Next Gen may also create and revise departmental procedures, assist with reports, participate in departmental production improvement efforts, and provide training to new and existing team members as needed.
The IMR Next Gen group is also temporarily working remotely due to the pandemic, but employees in these roles will return to a 100% in-office environment at 550 South 4th Street, in Minneapolis, MN, at the discretion of management.
