Our client is currently seeking a Machine Designer.

Summary:
  • Candidate will design automated machinery. This may include conceptual design as well as modifications of existing equipment, including everything from supports to gears to sheetmetal, etc.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with industrial automated equipment and have a strong mechanical aptitude, as well as a history with pneumatics, hydraulics, linear motion components, gear reduction, servo and VFD drives, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Customer interaction to help establish machinery requirements and determining automated processes.
  • Traveling to customer facilities to discuss and understand manufacturing process and concepts.
  • Design and manage complete machine assemblies while maintaining company design procedure
  • Delivering design presentations with both internal and customer teams to ensure all requirements are satisfied.
  • Tracking design progress of multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously and ensuring design consistency.
  • Creation of documentation for the machine build process. (Detail prints, Assembly prints, BOM' s, Purchased parts lists, etc.)
  • Interaction and cooperation with other departments. (Machining, Welding, Purchasing, Assembly)

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of machine related design experience
  • 3D experience with Autodesk Inventor (preferred) and/or Solidworks

Preferred:
  • Autodesk Inventor (strongly preferred)
  • Force load calculations
  • Metallurgy
  • Industry safety standards
  • FEA/Stress analysis
  • VBA/macro programming

Pay Range:
  • $30 - 40/hr, depending on experience
