Web Developer

Position Overview:

We're a global leader in premium home fitness equipment seeking a talented, passionate Web Developer for our D2C Shopify site: matrixhomefitness.com. Under the direction of the Marketing & Business Development Manager, the Web Developer is responsible for development and maintenance of the Matrix Fitness e-commerce site. A solid understanding of agile development process is essential, as well as demonstrated experience working across cross-functional teams (such as marketing management, product development, and creative) to achieve business goals. In addition, the Web Developer is responsible for the daily and long-term project management of related projects which includes establishing project scope and design project plans. This individual will work with the e-commerce specialist, sales team, and other stakeholders to establish project budgets, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced, varied environment.

The successful candidate will have a working understanding of technical code requirements with proven experience developing and maintaining e-commerce sites.

Responsibilities:

Web Developer

• Add new features and update existing functionality on the site and supporting e-commerce platform
• Work with existing Shopify theme and build/modify HTML, CSS, JS and Liquid files
• Collaborate with team members to come up with creative solutions for user experience and deliver quality code
• Build responsive landing pages and offer funnels to help increase check-out conversation rates
• Research, track and understand new web, API and e-commerce technologies to keep our systems running smoothly and up-to-date
• Optimize page speed of Shopify site(s)
• Understand and interpret data from Google Analytics to suggest site improvements
• Deliver an on-brand, positive and efficient online shopping experience
• Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in Shopify site(s)
• Work to overcome obstacles to success and to build collaborative relationships with other teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Minimum of four-year degree computer science, information systems or related field OR equivalent experience

Experience:

• Prior experience building successful e-commerce sites
• 2+ years of experience working with Shopify
• CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Liquid
• A strong understanding of responsive web design techniques with a mobile-first attitude
• An understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelines
• A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
• Able to work in a team environment and be autonomous on development tasks
• A quick learner with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time

Skills:

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of internal teams
• Work with variety of stakeholders to properly prioritize and triage work requests
