Lateral Police Officer

Brooklyn Park Police Department is currently seeking lateral officers through our continuous hiring process. The academy and field training process will be condensed based upon your prior law enforcement experience. Salary: The current 2021 hourly pay scale for Brooklyn Park police officers is $31.65 - $51.09. Lateral candidates with a year or more police officer experience will be eligible to start at a higher step, depending on experience. Step 2 ($35.66): One to two years full-time law enforcement experienceStep 3 ($39.23): Three years full-time law enforcement experienceStep 4 ($42.79): Four or more years full-time law enforcement experience Consideration will be given for special assignments previously held. Lateral officers will receive 48 hours of front-loaded vacation and may be placed on a vacation accrual schedule recognizing up to six years of prior service.
