Description

The position exists to support RIAS research across the array of topics that are organized within the five focus areas delineated in 13.  Given the activity in RIAS, support is needed in the following areas:

  • RIAS project management RIAS project milestone completion (e.g., compilation of final report materials) RIAS leadership coordination and meetings RIAS business development and outreach

This position reports to the RIAS Research Manager.

As a Project Manager for RIAS, you will manage projects and initiatives as defined by the Research Manager and/or Executive Director.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and defining project scope, project budget creation and evaluation, participating in field project activities, overseeing/participating in data collection efforts, creating charts, schedules, documents, and reports, and ensuring deliverables are met by project deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Manage projects from inception to conclusion, including but not limited to:
      • Plan, design/shape, and implement projects (project proposals, statements of work, budgets, timelines, etc.).
      • Maintain accurate tracking of project, including goals, objectives, budgets, timeline, and deliverables.
      • Prepare materials for submission to funding agencies, including any reporting requirements.
      • Lead compilation of RIAS project final reports.
      • Prepare project specific presentation materials for conferences and meetings.
    • Update the RIAS project and event management tool on a regular basis.
    • Coordinate and lead RIAS project meetings.
    • Support RIAS leadership meetings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Business Development and Outreach
    • Support RIAS business development by attending meetings and supporting concept/project shaping.
    • Support RIAS outreach.
    • Work with clients and vendors through the contracting process.
    • Develop and maintain business partnerships as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with budget development and management.
  • Technical document writing and proofing experience.
  • Either education or experience in a field that supports development of autonomous systems or policies or that can utilize autonomous systems.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.
  • Export Control Compliance.

This position requires compliance with U.S. government export control laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related field (e.g., science & technology).
  • More than 2 years of project management experience.
  • Event management experience.
  • Certified Associate in Project management and/or Program Management Professional certification through the Program Management Institute (PMI).
  • Experience working with autonomous/unmanned systems.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in performing research.
  • Experience collaborating with state and federal agencies.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

Commensurate with Experience, Exempt, Full-Time, Benefitted

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, may include occasional evenings and weekends as neeeded
