Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL) is a leader in bio-sourced pharmaceuticals. We have an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst to join our growing team.


Formulates, analyzes, administers, and monitors SPL's actual, forecasted, and budgeted financial data. Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts by comparing projected costs to actual costs; assists in budget administration by examining and highlighting variances in projected versus actual spend. Forecasts expenses for growth project with varying annual requirements for goods, services, equipment, and personnel. Participates with supervisor in determining deadlines for assigned projects. Works independently and collaboratively, depending on project and business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes financial information for products and business units in order to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action afornd/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Assists functional area leaders in preparing budget requests and justifications by gathering, extracting, reviewing, verifying, and consolidating a variety of narrative and statistical data; examines budget requests for accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations; and compares budget requests with prior year estimates and current operating reports
  • Assembles data for use in preparing budget and program evaluations
  • Performs in-depth analysis of investment requests using techniques such as cost-benefit analysis and program trade-offs, and by exploring alternative methods of funding
  • Compiles budget, forecast, and project presentations for review by senior management; Coordinates the aggregation and evaluation of information required for executive level budget meetings
  • Prepares a variety of reports detailing the status of funds, expenses, and obligations
  • Identifies trends and recommends adjustments in program spending
  • Advises management on budgeting deadlines and alternative means of accomplishing budgetary objectives
  • Serves as budgeting liaison between managers and staff of various organizational programs.

  • Bachelor's degree
