This Finance Director Projects & Executive Support will work closely with Jostens executive leadership to oversee strategic initiatives from development through successful execution. This role will support the analysis of key risks and opportunities, development of financial analyses and models to evaluate these Risks and Opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for turning analysis into concise, executive-ready presentations to be presented to the leadership team. The role acts as a point of contact between leadership and other stakeholders and provides oversight and guidance to projects of high importance. The position requires broad business acumen as well as strong financial modeling and analytical skills.

The position does not have direct reports but will require outstanding interpersonal skills in partnering with and influencing business unit and functional leaders in the analysis of these risks and opportunities and a collaborative mindset in devising potential solutions and strategies. This role will need to bring together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Management and Analysis

  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation and management of various analyses related to new business initiatives, strategic evaluation of current or proposed business practices and other projects as directed by Jostens senior management
  • Prepare recommendations and report on strategic, operational and financial aspects of these projects for presentation to senior Jostens leadership and the Operating Council
  • Assist other business unit and finance leaders in tracking and reporting on project status for presentation to Jostens leadership team and the Operating Council, including "Top 5" priorities and special projects
  • Creating and updating dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators


Internal/External Reporting

  • Prepare other internal and external reporting, including monthly Operating Council updates, annual operating plan presentations, earnings releases, investor financial reporting, bank reporting and special project presentations to the Operating Council and board.


Preparedness and Support

  • Maintain database of key financial and operating metrics for Jostens that will support future analysis and presentation requirements in an M&A setting
  • Construct and maintain the Jostens long-term financial projection model
  • Prepare financial models as required to evaluate M&A buy-side opportunities; participate in financial analysis and due diligence activities; work with business unit and financial leadership to evaluate financial value drivers, identify risks and opportunities and to communicate findings to Jostens senior leadership and Operating Council in a concise and insightful way


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA and/or CPA
  • 15 or more years related professional experience
  • Ability to create executive level presentations and dashboards
  • Experience overseeing large, cross functional organization wide projects or strategic initiatives
  • Broad general business knowledge required, with ability to operate as a business partner; ability to bring new perspectives and fresh-thinking is a must
  • Results oriented strategic thinker with the ability to quickly identify value drivers and business risks and quantify their impacts
  • Excellent analytical skills in interpreting financial data and processes with strong computer aptitude and PC skills - Excel, Access; must have expert level skills in financial modeling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization; exhibited ability to distill complex business processes and economic drivers to concise and to-the-point presentations; Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Outstanding listening skills and awareness of own and others' nonverbal communication cues
  • High level of tact and diplomacy; ability to influence and persuade, and to select and utilize leadership style appropriate to audience and setting
  • High energy level and ability to remain calm, multi-task, and maintain focus in turbulent environments, often under extreme time pressure



Typical/expected % of overnight travel: Up to 20%
