Job Title: CCA Health & Safety Specialist- Western ND 

Accountable to: CCA Lead 

Department: Student Services 

FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt 

Employees under their Direct Supervision: None. 

Standard Office Hours: Twelve-month position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and other times to reach agency goals or job duties.  

Location: Open (Western North Dakota) 

Salary: $45,000- $61,000

 

Decision Making Authority: Responsible for best interests of the South East Education Cooperative (SEEC) given what has been budgeted and carefully utilizes funding to achieve expected goals. Approval required from the Director of Student Services (or assigned designee) on specific matters as outlined in policies and procedures. 

 

Position Overview: 

The Child Care health and Safety Specialist is a health professional with specialized knowledge and training to support programs in achieving and maintaining health and safety in early childhood settings. This position works with early childhood providers, center staff, and Best in Class classrooms.  

Lead and move forward the statewide Child Care Aware initiative by providing leadership and guidance to CCA team members in the delivery and implementation of the Resource & Referral, Technical Assistance & Coaching, and Professional Development programs. Responsible for the management and oversight of the CCA team within their day-to-day operations including the delivery of services, stakeholder communication and satisfaction, and State contract compliance. Responsible to evaluate program ratings against appropriate sections of Standards 1-5 of the AdvancED Accreditation “self-review” standards. Implements cohesive actions to improve self-ratings.
