Your duties will include Automation Engineering and support of LDAP Directory Servers (PingDS) in a large intra/internet facing environment.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working with automation technologies to increase the speed and reliability of directory service deployments, upgrades, and changes
  • Leveraging scripting (Python, Perl, bash/ksh, Ruby) for automation
  • Designing, developing, and implementing flexible directory service architectures
  • Provide production support, monitoring, and support of directory services
  • Performing in-depth data and log analysis
  • Certify upgrades and patches to current infrastructure
  • Research and apply new technologies
  • Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Performance testing and tuning of directory products
  • Provide training and mentoring within our team

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 3+ years related, progressive, post-baccalaureate experience
  • 3+ years of sound UNIX/Linux skills
  • 3+ years of experience writing script with shell, Perl, Python, Ruby
  • 3+ years of "hands-on" LDAP directory infrastructure design/support experience with Oracle DSEE or Ping Directory server
  • 3+ years of Information Technology support experience in large, complex multi-server environment
  • Experience creating and maintaining chef recipes and cookbooks
  • Experience using terraform to provision infrastructure
  • Experience using Splunk for log analysis
  • Familiarity with directory server components: ACIs, Schema and DIT, Replication, Indexing, Plug-ins & configuration
  • Experience in LDAP integration with a variety of applications and utilities
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to address real-time production issues and restore service from an operations standpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Load Testing Tools (SLAMD)
  • Experience deploying applications to the Cloud (Azure and AWS)
  • Ability to make audit-related assessments, document changes needed, deploy feasible audit-related changes
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Excellent communication skills capable of addressing various stakeholders (developers, business end users, senior management)

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
