Shift: 1st: Monday - Thursday, 4:45am - 3:30pm. OT Fridays
Position Summary
This position independently operates production line equipment and performs corrective maintenance tasks across the production line to achieve daily targets. Periodic preventative maintenance including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication will be performed per maintenance plan. Role will be expected to model ILLUME's core values an provide leadership across the line team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate line equipment in accordance with Safety and Standard Work processes
  • Observe and follow ILLUME safety rules and regulations.
  • Safely operate equipment per standard work guidelines to meet production needs.
  • Develop recommendations and actions to continuously improve current processes and standard work
  • Escalate performance issues with urgency
  • Foster a team-based environment while working with others associates on the production line.
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on production line equipment to achieve daily performance targets
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair issues on the production line impacting daily performance; Use diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications as needed to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Effectively use manual and automated tools to support achieving manufacturing targets.
  • Assist in modification of existing equipment and installation of new equipment.
  • Maintain equipment by daily maintenance (inspecting, cleaning) and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and efficiency; Partner with Maintenance Mechanic as required to follow applicable schedules.
  • Maintain records for equipment preventative maintenance in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Achieve quality and performance targets in partnerships with Line Lead & Supervisor
  • Understand performance targets and schedule requirements specific to assigned production line.
  • Conduct in-process quality and compliance checks, take necessary actions to address non-compliance
  • Communicate vendor and production related issues with Quality, Line Lead, and Supervisor.
  • Partner with Line Lead and Supervisors to identify / implement actions to improve processes for performance and reduced waste.
  • Create and maintain all documentation as required to support daily reporting and customer compliance.
  • Assist in training new Line Technicians, Line Specialists, and Machine Operators to ensure understanding of quality and process standards.
Participate in and improve line changeover process
  • Coordinate with Mixing department, Line Lead, and Machine Operators to effectively complete changeover activities for next shop floor order.
  • Leverage rapid changeover principles to significantly reduce changeover times between shop floor order.
Troubleshoot and drive continuous improvement along line
  • Ensure Lean principles are implemented across the production line to deliver culture, ownership, and performance goals.
  • Lead troubleshooting activities on production equipment to maximize uptime.
  • Complete root cause problem solving and action planning as required to improve performance
  • Respond to downtime with a sense of urgency and follow escalation protocols.
Skills & Knowledge Required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years in manufacturing environment in a hands-on mechanical position(s).
  • Model safe working behaviors and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Computer literacy to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and CMMS systems.
  • Able to accurately report and enter data.
  • Knowledge of basic Lean principles including 5S, standard work, and rapid changeover.
  • Basic troubleshooting and tool usage knowledge to conduct adjustments, changeovers, and corrective maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and work in team-based environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly and effectively to benefit the targeted production levels.
  • Maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Willingness to train other team members.
