Job Title: Construction Manager
Location: ND
Duration: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000
Work Schedule: 40 - 50 hour work week.
Target start date / availability: Interview and start ASAP
OVERVIEW:
The Construction Manager will act as the Owner's Rep while conducting oversight of the EPCM on site. This person will be expected to understand how to keep an EPCM in compliance with safety requirements, contract requirements, oversee budget and schedule, permits. The project will consist of demolition of an existing plant and construction of a new facility.
- This individual would be managing the EPCM activities, but not driving any work.
- Specific experience with demolition and greenfield construction sites is a must.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the construction activities of the EPCM on site
- General Role - Owner's Rep for the project. This is an observer role ONLY. Owner's rep is not to direct subs-contractors in any way. With the exception of an immediate safety risk, communication about the project and items listed below must be through client personnel and/or the PM versus directly with sub-contractors.
- Be an Owner's Rep on the project. Work is currently planned for 6 days per week. Expectation should be that this role is on site for project core hours, daily.
- Safety - Perform safety audits on a regular basis. Document these audits in Sphera or by another means. Work with client when there are issues/concerns. Report back to the project PM bi-weekly on safety status of the project OR immediately upon the occurrence of and incident.
- Productivity - Perform HOTT audits daily. Document these audits and submit results back to the corporate data base. Work with client when there are issues/concerns. Report back to the project PM bi-weekly on productivity.
- QA/QC - Witness 3rd party QA/QC activities at the site. Review reports for accuracy. Verify that construction activities are following the project specifications and good construction practices. Work with client when there are issues/concerns. Report back to the project PM bi-weekly on QA/QC OR immediately upon the occurrence of an issue.
- Progress - Confirm project progress reports. Verify accuracy of % complete on a spot basis and report back to the PM if there are major concerns/discrepancies.
- Equipment - Participate in the inspection process of equipment when received with KFI and verify documented results of those inspections.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- 10+ years Construction Management experience.
- Prior experience as an Owner's Rep with oversight of an EPCM is highly preferred
- Food Process plant experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills are a must. Candidates will be communicating with a Project Manager regularly.
- Experience in food grade facilities
- Experience with project management/scheduling.
- Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Experience with construction practices and principles.
- Experience with demolition
