Description

To provide executive-level administrative support for the academic program of the seminary as a whole, with specific responsibilities related to the associate academic dean and office of academic affairs. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Academic Dean.

Key Result Areas
  1. Serve as the executive assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Academic Dean and the Associate Academic Dean.
  2. Manage the operations of the Office of Academic Affairs
  3. Provide administrative support for the operation of the Luther Seminary Faculty, its divisions and faculty committees
  4. Manage the administrative processes associated with faculty searches, hiring, reviews, and tenure, including both regular and adjunct faculty as appropriate
  5. Provide administrative support for the academic programs of the Seminary as requested by the Academic Dean or Associate Academic Dean
  6. Other duties as assigned


Requirements

B. Required education and experience:

1. Bachelor's degree required.

2. A minimum of five years of experience in higher education administration

3. Experience with budgetary oversight

4. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong writer, thorough and succinct.

5. Computer technology savvy. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite: including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and the Google platform.

6. Must have a high degree of flexibility; be willing to pivot and work in new learning modules during times of change.

C. Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1. Familiarity with academic accreditation helpful, experience desired

2. Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for details

3. Strong sense of hospitality and commitment to service to constituents

4. Knowledge of ELCA

5. Familiarity with other mainline Christian organizations

6. Familiarity and experience with graduate-level theological education

7. Familiarity and experience with academic program development
