About You: We are looking for an Accounting Assistant. The ideal candidate must have an outgoing personality, be assertive, and be able to maintain a high level of professional conduct.

Compensation/Benefits: Competitive pay ranging from $17-$20/hour depending on qualifications. Essential Functions:

  • Business-to-business collections: Monitor client accounts to identify over-due payments, and contact them to arrange payment
  • Professionally handle communications with clients and vendors via phone or email
  • Assist with account reconciliation and be able to research and resolve discrepancies
  • Understand, or ability to learn, sales and use tax as it pertains to the construction and service industry
  • Process cash applications, lien waiver requests, monthly statements, and other Accounts Receivable related tasks
  • Assist with audits and other ad hoc projects and tasks as requested
  • Assist with maintenance of client and vendor records
  • Assist with research and toubleshooting of billing inquiries
  • Perform office tasks such as filing, data entry, answering phones

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, a minimum of a 2-year degree in Accounting is preferred
  • Competency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, PC Skills, and 10-key
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • High rate of accuracy and ability to self-audit
  • Maintain a high level of professional conduct including honesty, integrity, and professional appearance
  • Team player, and an ability to remain positive and motivated
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Familiar with basic accounting principles is preferred
