DEPARTMENT: Fort Berthold District Court

SALARY: $DOQ

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

FLSA STATUS: Full Time Regular

LOCATION: New Town, ND

POSITION SUMMARY: The Building Manager is responsible for the coordination and the management of general building security, safety, maintenance and welfare of occupants. The building manager is also in charge of building construction in that they will assure completion and maintenance of the building. Safety and security are the priorities for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Developing and coordinating facility emergency and management policies and procedures to ensure that the building is secure, maintained and running smoothly. Safety and security are the priorities for this position. 2. As part of their ongoing duties, the Building Manager must maintain and repair the building. This will entail routine tasks such as fixing broken or malfunctioning locks, plumbing, electrical system, and outsourcing complex tasks such as the heating and cooling systems to a third-party contractor. 3. Because of previous maintenance problems, the Building Manager will assess current building systems and structures and be responsible to ensure the problems are resolved quickly and efficiently. 4. The Building Manager will oversee security and safety and will assess and supervise the bailiffs as part of the security measures. This will include the cameras, security doors and security gate and equipment. 5. The Building Manager will also handle painting, landscaping and other cosmetic aspects of the building. 6. They will need to report to their supervisor on a regular basis and keep clear and organized records of the building. 7. And other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: ??? The Building Manager will supervise the bailiffs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge ??? Knowledge of building systems and structures, specifically HVAC ??? Proficient in handling responsibilities and time management ??? Knowledge of court and law enforcement structures, i.e. the courtroom security, judge's security and public security ??? Knowledge of fire safety, and how it relates to the Police Department and the Courts ??? Knowledge of Three Affiliated Tribes culture Skills ??? Good communication skills to deal with public as well as construction and contract personnel. ??? Must have teamwork skills because they will work with all the Court and Police Department staff ??? Use of general office equipment, computer and word processing Abilities Preparing, documenting and maintaining records of the building. Report writing and management reports to supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Requires a degree and experience

WORKING CONDITIONS: ??? Valid North Dakota drivers' license ??? Required to pass basic training or have equivalent training certification. ??? Must not have been charged with a criminal misdemeanor within the last three years and must never have been charged with or convicted of a felony offence.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: ??? Work may require Irregular hours i.e., working after normal scheduled working hours, weekends and at night ??? Work may require travel away from the normal duty station ??? Smoke free ??? The ability to deal w1th demands of a stressful environment is recommended due to the nature of the subject matter. ??? May be subject to confrontations in the process of assisting in resolving differing opinions. ??? May be required to operate a motor vehicle
