This full time, permanent Mechanical Engineering Tool Design Technician is at a leading integrated, financially sound, stable manufacturer of advanced design cutting tools. The company also has machine building capabilities. The manufacturing area is clean and air conditioned. The technology is state of the art including 9-axis CNC machines. This position could grow into a Cutting Tool Design Engineer. The successful candidate duties and responsibilities should include the following:
- Creating manufacturing process methods for manufacturing cutting tools
- Reading and interpreting tooling drawings
- Maintaining and updating the engineering systems from requests for change orders
- Maintain and updating required, relevant records and files
- Laying out tools from engineering prints
- Completing a variety of single diameter tool designs
- Determining speed and feed recommendations
- Troubleshooting
- Participating in standard routing development
The background of the successful candidate should include the following:
- A two year engineering or related degree
- One or more years of engineering experience in metal working or machining environment
- One or more years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Possess a strong mechanical aptitude
- Possess strong working knowledge of trigonometry
- Possess strong problem solving skills
- Possess a solid work history
- Being a US citizen or green card holder
- Having a residence within a 45 minute drive
