We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Product Manager to join our Clean Technology Systems division. This position will work within the fast-growing Lithium-Ion Battery segment, where Drr supplies coating and drying, solvent recovery and purification, and cell assembly and gluing equipment. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Drr influences at a global level.

Position Summary: The Product Manager is responsible and accountable for the technical design of one or more CTS Global Products. Typical functions include standard document development, standards organization, technical design and component specification, product development, R&D product/project management, market review, and competitor analysis. This information is managed and distributed to other global entities. The Product Manager provides support to the sales/proposals group in designing and applying products to new contracts and the Operations group, OEM and AMS, in executing projects. The ultimate goal of the Product Manager is to provide sound engineered designs and components for LiB coating line projects while maintaining a competitive cost position and assuring information is efficiently communicated to all CTS entities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for complete system design, analysis, and engineering calculations for the specified product
  • Develop standard and project documents, procedures, component specifications, purchase requisitions and quality procedures
  • Develop fabrication and installation guidelines and documents. Also, assist in qualifying fabricators and installers
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, rheology, and fluid delivery systems
  • Understanding of web handling and coating systems design and operation principles
  • Communicate with the project team, global divisions, customers, and suppliers
  • Training of other departments, global divisions, and employees on the product
  • Product continuous improvement and cost reduction, product lifecycle management
  • Research and development and implementation of new product upgrades or designs
  • Interpret schematics to develop complete system designs
  • Maintain project schedules
  • Interpret mechanical drawings
  • Selection of purchased equipment
  • Development of subcontract bid package documentation
  • Manage budgets for engineering labor costs
  • Supervision of subcontract engineering and design engineers (CAD)
  • Attend and/or conduct design reviews
  • Support on-site installation and commissioning crew as required
  • Attend customer meetings to understand project requirements
  • Understand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problems
  • Support for proposal development and sales execution
  • Read and interpret customer specifications
  • Travel approximately 20% Position requires travel for periods of 1 week to 4 weeks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or associate's degree.
  • Five (5) or more years of position-related experience
  • Strong background in process development and design key technical areas include heat/mass transfer, systems, materials science, mechanical design (light structural design).
  • Understands process instrumentation drawings, flow diagrams, and instrument symbols and functions
  • Design engineering calculation ability
  • Experienced with industry codes such as SMACNA, EPA, NFPA, OSHA, FM, and IRI
  • Able to conduct HAZOP studies and PFMEAs
  • Able to read and interpret Solidworks and AutoCAD drawings
  • Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Visio
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills

  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering & estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, & customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment

  • Previous experience with product management and/or roll-to-roll slot die coating and drying systems is highly preferred. Related industry experience may also be considered
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
Physical Demands: While performing duties of the job, the incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, and use hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
