Accountant

The Accountant serves an integral lead role in Detroit Lakes Public Schools’ business office team under the leadership of the Director of Finance and Operations. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining systems of accounting and controls by following MN Department of Education and State mandates including UFARS (Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards). The Accountant manages School District fund and accounting activities, assists in budget preparation, annual audit, compliance reporting, and more!

Education Requirements: Bachelor or Associates Degree in Accounting

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of K-12 Education Finance/Accounting experience preferred but not required

Other Qualifications: High level of detail orientation and organizational skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks. Demonstrated track record of punctuality and dependability.

Schedule: Full-time (+) position. Regular daily schedule 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. (M-F). Summer hours are an extra perk – work week ends at 11 am on Fridays!

Pay Rate: Pay/salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience
