YOUR ROLE

  • Executes engineering processes ensuring that quality projects are delivered on-time at competitive cost
  • Liaises with other stakeholders in order to provide professional support and advice
  • Leads and manages a team of engineers to implement projects and improvements in the area of responsibility
  • Monitors KPIs for engineering processes
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technical development and trends in the field of expertise
  • Support engineering and operational initiatives across the Global and North American AO network.
  • Leading and supporting process safety requirements such as: Basic and Detailed Risk Assessments, HAZOP, MOC, PSSR, LOPA, SIS, PSI, etc.
  • Work as a leader of project teams to safely and successfully drive the delivery and implementation of major capital projects within Henkel North America.
  • Design and implement projects to improve the overall safety, quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.
  • Full project life cycle ownership of projects: successful project delivery will include full implementation from conceptual design (prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project) through initiation and deployment for assigned projects.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives. Includes:
  • Manage project scope and changes
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
  • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, & tools to effectively manage capital projects.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time required.


YOUR SKILLS

  • BS or MS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required
  • Proven track record in Project Management (minimum 5 years) with ability to manage multiple projects in a chemical processing facility.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and execute multiple capital projects at various stages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills required
  • A demonstrated ability to learn new chemistries and processes.
  • Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of times
  • Work on the job floor to supervise contractors and start up equipment and chemical processes.
  • Verbally communicate one-on-one and in front of groups as necessary
  • Able to travel to and function in manufacturing plants throughout the company
