It gives us a chance to continue to innovate as we shape the future.This position is for a Compliance Investigator, investigating allegations of non-compliance within Optum. The Investigative Compliance Consultant will join a talented, high performing Investigation team that assesses reported allegations, identifies applicable governing laws, regulations, and policies, and conducts investigations through analyzing documents and other evidence, and interviewing witnesses. The Investigative Compliance Consultant must analyze facts uncovered through the investigation, apply them against controlling statutes, laws, regulations, policies and guidance, and make a merit determination for all allegations. The Investigative Compliance Consultant must be a very strong writer and prepare high quality written summaries for the investigation and witness interviews, and for business leadership briefings. The Consultant will work collaboratively with legal, compliance, Human Capital, and business partners throughout the investigation, and will also work with UHG Enterprise Compliance leadership. The Consultant will help business compliance partners identify and recommend process improvements and best practices to promote compliance. The Consultant should have very strong investigative, analytical, communication, writing skills, and oral presentation skills. The Investigator should be prepared to manage a high workload, and to handle sensitive, complex, or escalated issues. It's an exhilarating pace where you can develop your career while you help to make the health system work better for everyone.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Conduct timely, unbiased, thorough and effective investigations of allegations of misconduct and ethical and compliance violations Collaborate with the business, Legal, Privacy, Human Capital, and other functions to identify and help the business implement appropriate corrective action Provide succinct, high quality briefings to leadership and other parties concerning individual investigation matters as well as trends and issues Prepare succinct, sound, well-reasoned, and high-quality interview and investigation summaries and reports Help drive problem resolution and compliance related remediation for all business segments across UnitedHealth Group You may have worked in compliance and/or corporate investigations already. But that's not like operating on a global scale. The stakes are high and the changes breathtaking. You will be challenged with thinking strategically as you implement an effective compliance investigation function. You will be responsible for conducting and managing a caseload of complex and challenging investigations and monitoring internal and external compliance improvement plans and remediation. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or associate degree Demonstrated experience conducting investigations in a corporate, government, legal, or law enforcement, or military environment Experience analyzing, communicating and presenting complex information and issues Experience interacting & collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (other functional support areas, customers, business leaders and executives) Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree 5+ years of experience conducting investigations in a corporate, government, legal, law enforcement, or military environment. Investigation experience with health care, managed care, health insurance, or insurance issues Working knowledge of and experience in the health care and/or insurance industries, including knowledge of and experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medicaid and/or Tricare regulations Certified Fraud Investigator or similar industry accreditation Excellent writing skills and solid verbal presentation skills Careers with Optum.
