Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

Compensation Minimum:$ 109,000

Compensation Maximum:$191,000

Summary:

This leadership role works within our Auto Center of Excellence (COE) and is responsible for managing the research and development of detailed auto product design programs in collaboration with key business partners to be utilized by all AmFam enterprise operating companies. Collaborates with PL leadership to provide input into the national strategy, underwriting strategy, guidelines, and rules. Oversees the development of policy provisions and underwriting intent for new and enhanced products. Provides oversight for legislation monitoring and legal research for line of business. Manages products to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance.
Job Description:

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and management for the enterprise auto product development function and processes. Establishes efficient and effective product design procedures inclusive of support functions.
  • Develops auto product strategies for new and enhanced products.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements departmental plans, objectives, and strategies.
  • Participates as a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Maintains an active awareness of American Family's business environments, corporate culture, and structure to support key decision-making.
  • Manages direct reports, systems, and projects to achieve department/unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices.
  • Prepares and analyzes department/unit plans and reports.
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.
  • Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance, and maintaining open communications.
  • Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing performance & development plans.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
  • Demonstrated experience developing insurance product strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Product Management with a focus on P&L.
  • Solid knowledge and of market research and marketplace and regulatory trends in Personal Lines coverage.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Property and Casualty Insurance product design and underwriting concepts.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.

  • This position is available for remote work. Future travel may be required when safe to return to office.
