Electrical Instrumentation Technician

The E+I Technician is responsible for supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives for process control systems, automation, instrumentation, and equipment in a Pulp/Paper/Water Treatment environment.

About the Role

The E+I Technician is responsible for defined maintenance activities in the production site. The role maintains the machines based on preventive and predictive maintenance concept. It is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems and solving these problems using the Daily Direction Setting approach & Root Cause Analysis. The technician supports and coaches the Operators / Colleagues in handling technical issues in the Resource Support Teams/Asset Teams and Site.

8 hour M-F Day shift position to start, at $37.22/hour. Must be able and willing to work possible 12 hour shifts along with Overtime, weekends, days or nights, for up to a $4/hour shift premium

What You Will Do

Work with operations, engineering, contractors, vendors, and other maintenance resources to support a 24/7 paper manufacturing operation with Tissue Machines, de-ink plant and water treatment facilities.

*Respond to critical requests for support site-wide and in specific areas.

*Gain "Center of Excellence" knowledge on specific technologies in our facility and share that knowledge with others as needed.

*Perform troubleshooting on site using Ethernet and logic controls interface tools.

*Identify improvement ability for critical instrumentation

*Support and troubleshoot operating motors, drives, and other logic-controlled variable effort equipment.

*Support and lead capital project teams when necessary including lower-level technicians, contractors, and peers.

*Develop and Mentor apprentices in specific trade areas.

Who You Are

Journeyman E/I Technician with State Indentured apprenticeship and work experience applying those skills in a manufacturing setting, Paper Industry or related medium-industrial environment experience preferred.

or:

Industrial Electrician Journeyman with demonstrated Paper Industry related instrumentation and PLC Programming and Troubleshooting experience.
