The Detroit Lakes Tribune and Perham Focus are searching for an experienced editor to lead and motivate a team of award-winning community journalists in a multimedia environment.

The Detroit Lakes Tribune and Perham Focus publish award-winning newspapers (twice-weekly and weekly newspapers, respectively) and magazines. The communities of Detroit Lakes and Perham, situated 20 minutes apart, are located in Minnesota lakes country, which is well-known for its year-round recreational opportunities. Each community has its own unique small-town feel, while both include successful schools and thriving business communities and health care facilities.

Candidate Qualifications & Must-Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience
  
• Solid editing experience
  
• Proficient with AP style
  
• Proven leadership skills
  
• Accurate, sound decision-making
  
• Ability to write clean, crisp copy in a fast-paced environment
  
• Valid driver’s license with driving record that is insurable by the company
  
• Value top-notch journalism
  
• Excellent writing, verbal and editing skills
  
• Enjoy leading talented people
  
• Promote/encourage teamwork
  
• Understand the value of what a newspaper brings to a community
  
• Experience with print, video and online media
