Electronics Technician

KLDiscovery, a leading global provider of electronic discovery, information governance and data recovery services, is currently seeking an Electronics Device Technician!

The Electronics Technician participates in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, disassembly/reassembly and data recovery of failed electronic flash, mobile, and solid state storage devices and subsystems. This requires the technician to work in a team environment and handle assignments independently, sometime under stringent timelines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot failed electronic flash, mobile, and solid state storage devices for the purposes of data recovery;
• Test, repair, and/or replace electronic components;
• Exchange and/or repair failed PCB's;
• Perform soldering and de-soldering retouch, rework, component removal and replacement of electronic components from PCBs;
• Effectively utilize and run Ontrack and 3rd party software and hardware tools to extract data from flash-based storage devices;
• Document troubleshooting techniques in an easy to follow and understandable manner;
• Disassemble and reassemble electronic flash-based storage devices following defined processes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree, 2 years of formal electronic-training; or
• 2 to 4 years of related work experience
• Be experienced and familiar with test equipment such as a digital multimeter, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and other similar test equipment
• Have soldering skills using standard, hot air, rework, BGA Oven, and other similar soldering equipment
• Have visual inspection skills including microscope and digital camera usage
• Have solid documentation skills
• Have the ability to understand, install, configure, and run custom and third party software applications
• Have the ability to understand, install, configure, and run custom and third party hardware fixtures
• Work within a team environment or on your own with moderate supervision
• Work to a schedule
• Provide accurate time estimates
• Escalate issues as needed
• Provide timely updates to leadership
• Provide intermediate level support for internal and external customers
• Conduct tasks and assignments as directed
• Demonstrate professional verbal and written skills
