About You

As a staff software engineer, your duties include finding and implementing solutions for issues, creating new software or applications by writing code, using visual development environments to debug, and ensuring the technical architecture runs smoothly. A significant aspect of your job is to not only contribute your skills but also mentor other software engineers to improve their skills and productivity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Work remotely from home during the business hours of 9:00am-5:00pm EST
• Engineer production-quality code to deploy these solutions on a platform specific for the client
• Enhance testing platforms, improve test automation, foster software craftsmanship
• Develop technical architecture and suggest the appropriate cloud services and frameworks to accomplish product goals
• Surprise and delight customers and partner software engineers
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of our solutions
• Help define and refine the practices that make our team effective.
• Mentor, sponsor, and empower the agile software engineers on your team.
• Craft technical strategy to support our product and business goals.
• Maintain and adapt a distributed system with an event-based, microservices architecture.
• Participate in our on-call rotation to help our clients when they need it most.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience as a Staff Engineer or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience as a Senior Engineer or equivalent.
• 7+ year so professional experience building web applications
• Senior level experience in FE Javascript and/or Android, Kotlin, IOS
• Senior level experience in BE Javascript and/or GO
• Senior level experience in AWS and/or GCP
• Senior level experience in TDD/BDD
• You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience contributing to a team as a collaborative technical leader.
• Experience contributing to technology plans and roadmaps with a 6-12 month line of vision based on business goals.
• Experience participating in the strategic development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects and programs.
• Experience leading pragmatic architectural discussions to advance our systems and/or the next generation of features to be built.
• Experience building systems of visibility and observability for scale into the engineering organization at the technical, cultural, and personal level to improve organizational health and overall velocity.
• Experience developing and implementing tests for ensuring the quality, performance and scalability of our/clients products.

• You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you.
• Enjoys engaging with engineers to knowledge share; holds thoughtful opinions on team dynamics and proactively works towards team harmony and maturity.
• You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code.
• You'll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
