YOUR ROLE

  • Executes the operational plan of an engineering task based on engineering designs and work specifications
  • Works closely with external contractors and ensures the quality of delivered services and products
  • Sets up or adjusts complex equipment according to manufacturing specifications Identifies and implements opportunities of process optimization
  • Performs routine and non-routine tests without direct supervision.
  • Analyzes and interprets test results and determines acceptability.
  • Provides leadership in short term scheduling activities.
  • Enters data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports. Ensures other Lab Technicians complete necessary documentation appropriately.
  • Utilizes statistical techniques (SPC, SQC) in daily Quality functions.
  • Release materials for packaging or inventory.
  • Train and assist other technicians as assigned.
  • Compares SLP to customer spec for appropriateness of methodology and materials.
  • Records time spent against work orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery and equipment.
  • This position requires proficiency in basic tool manipulation including mixing equipment, lab glassware, testing machines and other standard lab tools.
  • Must be proficient with related business and quality systems.
  • Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Able to adjust to changes in workflow, prioritize as needed, and meet deadlines.
  • Effectively work in a team environment


YOUR SKILLS

  • High School graduate and two years of college chemistry or related science courses
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Lab Technician in a business setting is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at routine mathematics, which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Experience with basic tool manipulation including mixing equipment, lab glassware, testing machines, and other standard lab tools.
  • Previous laboratory experience in a business setting desired.
  • Solid computer skills to manipulate and graph data and report experimental work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work on multiple projects.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be available for rotating or designed shifts.
