Mechanical Engineering Tool Design Technician

This full time, permanent Mechanical Engineering Tool Design Technician is at a leading integrated, financially sound, stable manufacturer of advanced design cutting tools. This position could grow into a Cutting Tool Design Engineer. The successful candidate duties and responsibilities should include the following:

• Creating manufacturing process methods for manufacturing cutting tools
• Reading and interpreting tooling drawings
• Maintaining and updating the engineering systems from requests for change orders
• Maintain and updating required, relevant records and files
• Laying out tools from engineering prints
• Completing a variety of single diameter tool designs
• Determining speed and feed recommendations
• Troubleshooting
• Participating in standard routing development

The background of the successful candidate should include the following:

• A two year engineering or related degree
• One or more years of engineering experience in metal working or machining environment
• One or more years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Possess a strong mechanical aptitude
• Possess strong working knowledge of trigonometry
• Possess strong problem solving skills
• Possess a solid work history
• Being a US citizen or green card holder
• Having a residence within a 45 minute drive
