As Americans' hunger for freedom grows, so does the Constitutionally-oriented John Birch Society staff. With JBS members and employees spread from coast to coast, national politics at fever pitch, and a long list of in-house freedom-fighting items and projects, there's never a dull moment in the JBS workday.

We are looking for a communications assistant to take charge of our social media operations and help with other day-to-day tasks. Special consideration will be given to applicants with copyediting skills.


The communications assistant will work with the director of communications and the communications manager.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Posting multiple times a day on social media platforms
  • Monitoring social media activity and responding when applicable
  • Comment marketing and replying to inbox questions
  • Generating social media analytics and reports
  • Helping coordinate speaking events and webinars
  • Helping answer emails and coordinate campaigns and/or events
  • Helping with e-newsletters
  • Working with the communications director and manager on projects
  • Helping with other activities that may not be listed here

Requirements:

  • College Degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing, or relevant experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in PR/marketing/communications, or relevant work experience
  • Having an understanding of Constitutional issues.


  • Job Type: Full-Time. On-location in Appleton, WIS.
  • Starting Pay: $16 per hour. The JBS offers health benefits and paid time off.
