The Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABEN) department has undergraduate and graduate programs in Agricultural Engineering, Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Systems Management. The successful candidate would have administrative interactions daily with students, staff, and departmental faculty.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Administrative Assistant support to the Department Chair including assisting in fulfilling university procedures and processes and provide support for tasks.
    • Personnel HR, department reports, administrative support for hiring faculty and staff through Peoplesoft online portal, Facilities Management liaison, key and telecommunications liaison, office space management
  • Provide Account Technician support for the department chair including:
    • Payment and coding of invoices, Inter-departmental billings, accounts payable vouchers, purchase orders, inventory documents, track department appropriated accounts, liaison with Ag Budget, process personnel reimbursements
  • Administrative Assistant to Department Faculty
    • Travel arrangements, Motor pool reservations, receptionist, office supplies.
  • Extension Web and Educational Services

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Advertised Salary: $40,000+/year depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Related work experience
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in financial account management
  • Ability to work independently and collegially as a multidisciplinary team member
  • Ability to communicate effectively including excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students, faculty, and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions during the work day
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An associate degree in appropriate field
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft
  • Higher education experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Maintaining and updating a webpage
