As part of the Product Development team, the Senior HVAC Engineering Designer role is critical in supporting design and product development activities for Ferguson HVAC products. This role interacts with many internal departments and external suppliers to assist with product development, blueprint design, and project specifications.
This position serves Wisconsin based clients and will require the individual hired to live and travel within Wisconsin. This role has the option to be based out of any of our local offices, including Green Bay, Madison, Appleton or Wausau, and has the potential of hybrid remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
Design and create project blueprints, drawings, and piping layouts
Use CAD to design and customize multi-family home blueprints and specifications
Act as design authority and provide consultative selling suggestions for product based solutions
Conduct on-site client visits to review and design project layouts
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support and ensure projects are completed within established timelines
Meet project related goals to support year-over-year growth targets
See projects through completion both quickly and accurately, while meeting bid timelines
Qualifications
1+ years of HVAC design experience, required
Current Wisconsin-state PE HVAC Design experience or ability to obtain PE Design certification in next 2 years, strongly preferred
Prior experience designing HVAC for multi-family construction projects, a plus
Forced air or hydronic design experience and expertise, preferred
Prior experience using CAD or similar design software, required
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Demonstrated attention to detail, initiative, self-motivation, and ability to proactively problem-solve
Ability to work efficiently and adeptly, multi-task, and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks at one time
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to gather and convey information to a variety of audiences
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and order management / data management systems
