Universal Services Inc. is a local, privately owned, and operated construction company that specializes in directional drilling, property restoration, and aerial placement. We have been in business since 1998 and have installed over five thousand job sites each year since. We currently run multiple directional drilling, installation/maintenance, and restoration crews across the state. Each team is equipped with state of the art, well maintained vehicles, and machinery. Job Duties

Perform safety and equipment audits of company, job sites and PPE safety equipment to identify and correct potential safety hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance with the safety program.
Assist local management in the investigation of safety-related damage incidents, employee injuries or occupational illnesses, and motor vehicle accidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
Facilitate and help administer insurance claims with the appropriate leaders and insurance contacts.
Conduct or facilitate safety training and education programs to supervisory and field employees through formal training classes, safety meetings, or other venues.
Administer training, safety recordkeeping, and documentation for compliance to safety training policies and requirements in the assigned area of responsibility.
Assist in job site accident, near-miss and occupational injury investigations to determine probable root causes. Provide recommendations for improvements.
Perform regular safety training sessions and hold toolbox talks with crews in mornings or on jobsites.
Identify best practices and assist in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process errors (WPE), raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Monitors the training needs of the workforce and helps develop, present, and keep records for all training.

. Requirements:

5-10 years of underground and aerial utility experience required.
Prior experience performing construction safety, reporting and record/document control duties, including frequent field site visits.
OSHA Outreach Training Instructor (Construction).
OSHA safety certifications (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA 500, 7505, or related safety certification).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities including construction field personnel and providing safety training, safety guidance and safety coaching to field personnel.
