Senior Verification & Validation Engineer - HiL Setup

Piper Maddox is currently partnered with a historic brand leading the electrification of the motorcycle industry. We are on an exclusive search for a Senior Electrical Verification & Validation Engineer to join this innovative team in Milwaukee as they launch headfirst into the future of e-Mobility.

This position is responsible for leading system and component level testing on HiL equipment for future products. You will be expected to define the test case, understand and operate HiL systems, identify pass/fail criteria, report the test findings, and support solutions of problems identified in tests. You will work alongside a cross-functional engineering team, ensuring the success of new and existing features within new platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Assess requirements at the vehicle, system and component levels. Collaborate alongside component owners and design engineers to define, develop, and execute hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) tests for product electronic control units (ECUs).
• Utilize National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW, Veristand, and TestStand to establish and execute custom test functions and sequences. Maintain and upgrade multiple NIbased HiL systems.
• Work extensively with CAN, analog and digital based control systems. Provide HiL support for advanced controls development and testing.
• Establish automation of test case execution with reporting.
• Use third-party software tools to log and share data with other test labs within the company.
• Carry out new test capabilities for the HiL test equipment to expand test case coverage.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable technical field.
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Proficiency in NI LabVIEW, Veristand, and TestStand (NI certifications CLD/CLED/CLA/CTD/CTA preferred, but not required). NI FPGA (cRIO/PXI) programming experience preferred.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation model development/integration.
• Familiarity with vehicle communications protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS, CCP).
