The Application Engineer is part of the Technology Deployment team and will provide expertise and support to customers and the commercial team. This role interacts directly with customer technical teams and will coordinate between the R&D department, Sales, Engineering, Quality Control, and Production. You will manage customer requirements and match to Fisher Barton expertise and capabilities and develop technical relationships with customers engineering teams.

You will do this by:

  • Developing solutions and solving customer problems
  • Providing Technical support and training for customers and Fisher Barton commercial team
  • Enhancing and developing technical relationships with customers
  • Coordinating technical response to customer needs
  • Participating in key sales situations
  • Participating in Trade shows / customer dealer events
  • Representing Fisher Barton in technical events and societies

  • Can work collaboratively with R&D technicians, Sales, Engineering, and Quality Control
  • Has the ability to communicate both in writing and verbally at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to work across functions and among a variety of levels within an organization, on individual and group projects
  • Is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and able to balance multiple tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Solid understanding of materials engineering requirements and processes
  • Proficient in computers and specific software; Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Epicor, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in Engineering, and or Technical Sales in B2B environment
  • Experience in manufacturing environment

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

?? Support business development efforts, including cost estimation and preparation of white papers and proposals

Travel Required:

?? Up to 25% travel

  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a give point)

  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring in an object into sharp focus)
